Founded in 1993 by Colin H. Naito, KWYI remains under original ownership.

KWYI airs a wide selection of adult contemporary and oldies music with a minimum of talk.

KWYI's music selection is second to none. Songs are carefully selected by tempo and flow making each transition a smooth one.

KWYI targets the 25-54 yr. old adults with 5,500 watts of power, covering the South Kohala area of the Big Island of Hawaii.
